Alkohol: 14,5% Vol.
Indhold: 75 cl.

"The 2000 Tinto (Quinta da Gaivosa) is principally Tinta Roriz Touriga Franca, Tinto Cao, and Touriga Nacional, from 60-year-old vines, and is a wine produced only in what the winery considers to be exceptional years. Fragrant, ripe, soft, fruity and very tasty, this seems remarkably primary. It hints of a red fruit liqueur in flavor, at least until air calms it down, although it is actually rather light on its feet, neither thick nor syrupy, just very flavorful. Some may think this is in fact a little too sweet and fruity, but after initial exuberance on opening, the fruit calms down considerably, and the wine hits its stride. If served blind, I mightve identified it as a good California Pinot Noir. This manages some delicacy and flamboyance at the same time, but its impeccable balance indicates that it is not a one-trick pony. It is lovely overall, its tannins soft, its texture sensual. With air, it becomes delectable, and seems livelier than I thought it was based on first impressions. I wasnt sure where this was going at first, but I liked it more and more as time went on, for its gentle sensuality combined with the persistent flavors. It is quite seductive and seems classier as it airs out. The next day it was still vibrant, bright, charming and tasty, flamboyance gone, but lots of fine fruit and flavor remaining. In fact, it started to show some character. There is a very nice QPR (quality/price ratio) here. There were 500 cases produced, of which only 100 were imported. Drink now-2013.
This estate makes wine from several different Quintas, including Quinta do Vale da Raposa and Quinta da Gaivosa, which are adjacent to one another. Their first vintage was 1991. I didnt like everything that this Estate did, but their lineup included some of the most enjoyable wines I reviewed. " Robert Parker.
